Big Sky CountryLooking Forward to 00Once upon a time (it was 1968 to be exact) a family set out on a vacation westward. Mom and Dad and five kids over eight years old were stashed in the front two seats of a station wagon, while brother BooBoo, who was only three, made a nest on top of the sleeping bags and camping paraphernalia loaded into the back seat. A bright red ice chest and the tent rode on top of the car. It was on this trip that brother Yogi made the immortal remark, "Ill be back." And you thought Forest Gump coined all the trademark phrases. It wasn't until the 80's that we began to return to the west -- and it was brother BooBoo who led the way. He was stationed at Malstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls. He fell in love with Montana on his own, and soon had us all back out visiting. There was the trip of '88; the mad dash trip of '89 when we got caught in the St. Patrick's Day snowstorm (sure, BooBoo, all Montana's snow blows into North Dakota); the PBJ tour of '94, and the Glacier National Park Tour of '96. 1998's trip was dubbed Lil & Pearl ride again.
